Trump Appoints Campaign Spokespeople to Top White House Roles

President-elect Donald Trump has elevated two of his campaign’s leading spokespeople to prominent positions in his incoming administration’s communications team.

Steven Cheung Named White House Communications Director

Steven Cheung, who served as Trump’s campaign spokesman, has been appointed White House communications director and assistant to the president. Cheung previously held the role of director of strategic response during Trump’s first term, where he became known for his behind-the-scenes expertise and unwavering defense of Trump.

This appointment brings Cheung back to a position that experienced significant turnover during Trump’s initial term, with six individuals occupying the role across seven stints. Cheung’s career also includes work as a spokesperson for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), further highlighting his diverse professional background.

Karoline Leavitt Appointed as White House Press Secretary

Karoline Leavitt, the campaign’s national press secretary, will assume the role of White House press secretary. Leavitt, who previously served as an assistant press secretary during Trump’s first term, has been a vocal advocate for Trump’s policies and a key player in the administration’s communications efforts.

Leavitt expressed her gratitude for the opportunity, stating, “Thank you, President Trump, for believing in me. I am humbled and honored. Let’s MAGA!” Trump commended her appointment, saying, “Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator. I have full confidence she will excel in this role.”

Additional Key Appointments

Sergio Gor, a close advisor to Trump since the 2016 campaign, has been named assistant to the president and director of presidential personnel. Trump praised both Cheung and Gor for their longstanding commitment to his vision, stating, “They have championed America First principles throughout my first term and will continue to do so as we Make America Great Again.”

A New Chapter for the Communications Team

These appointments reflect Trump’s focus on loyalty and expertise as his administration prepares for its next chapter. With seasoned professionals like Cheung, Leavitt, and Gor at the helm, the team is poised to deliver its message effectively and directly to the American people.
